This Formosa Tri-Cabin, at 44 years, is in generally good condition with “good bones”. The exterior is original: teak decks, teak railings and teak window frames. The fiberglass hull and topsides appear to be in good condition; there are areas of water intrusion on the interior which do not seem active at this time.
She has wide side decks and bow for protection while underway and easy passage fore and aft to the stern sundeck and flybridge. A Livingston dinghy on the swim step is easily deployed for a quick trip to shore.
The interior teak throughout the boat is in good condition for a boat of this age. The forward guest cabin has a large v-berth which may be set up as individual sleeping berths and has storage below. The head compartment has a shower wand, toilet and sink.
The lower helm is starboard with a door to the side deck. The electronics are dated but reportedly work. The L-shaped galley is just aft. It has large counters for prepping food and quite a bit of storage area above and below the counters. A side-by-side sink, Dometic Freedom Fridge and Magic Chef four burner stove/oven complete the galley. The L-shaped settee and table are to port with ample room for a couple of chairs for guests. Large windows make the feel of this boat expansive, allow lots of light and grant beautiful views while at anchor.
The aft cabin has a large hanging locker to port just as you enter, the large full/queen berth is offset to port with a vanity table and beautiful mirror above, just next to the berth. Stairs to the aft deck are starboard with drawer and hanging storage along the starboard side. The head includes a separate tub/shower, toilet and sink with storage above and below.
In my opinion, a person who enjoys rejuvenating and preserving a classic will find satisfaction and accomplishment while owning this boat.

The current owners have owned this Formosa Trawler for the past 23 years. They have raised their children on the water, enjoying many family memories.
She is a gem in the rough; the exterior brightwork and decks will benefit from the next owners' care and attention toward the restoration of her beauty.
