Lifestyle & Use

The growth of the trawler market segment, and particularly the increase in small "trawler" designs derives from recognition that compact design does not require forfeiting comfort or capability.

The features of the Helmsman Trawlers 31 Sedan read like those of a much larger trawler: substantial construction; full keel with protective skeg and skeg-hung rudder; yacht-quality teak interior; oversized double-rung safety handrail rails; full flybridge; master stateroom with separate head and shower compartments; capable and proven hull design. But this remarkable cruiser embodies all these characteristics in a compact and economical package.

Four propulsion options are available.
1. Volvo-Penta D4-225 in-line four cylinder electronically-controlled common rail diesel engine (see price list)
2. Hyundai Seasall S270P V-6 electronically-controlled common rail diesel engine (see price list)
3. Hyundai R200P in-line four cylinder electronically-controlled common rail diesel engine (see price list)
4. John Deere 4045 in-line four cylinder electronically-controlled common rail diesel engine, available in a wide range of horsepower and duty ratings (pricing by request)

Details & Close Up

Examination will reveal that this boat is built to an exceptional standard.

Attention-to-detail abounds: quality stainless steel deck gear, welded oversized handrails, recessed hinges and fasteners, machine screws that are perfectly aligned, hatches that are as well-crafted underneath as they are on top, thick FRP deck sections for strength, opening windows and stainless steel opening portlights, ceiling panels that are removable for wiring access, proper wireways built-in, thick sound insulation, and extensive use of solid teak and teak veneers throughout. The Helmsman 31 Sedan has a proper "little ship" feel.

Design & Build

With its design derived from the popular and hardy Camano 31, the Helmsman Trawlers 31 Sedan launches from a lineage of literally hundreds of predecessors. While retaining the same hullform, this model enhances the build quality, modernizes the aesthetics, and improves liveability and comfort.

Prices & Process

Pricing is described on the Price List. Because Helmsman Trawlers are built-to-order there is a good capacity for customization, far beyond the options identified on the Price List. Talk with us about your preferences!

The build process requires an initial payment, with subsequent payment when the boat is shipped from Shanghai, and a final payment after satisfactory demonstration at destination, upon Closing. Buyers will receive regular photographic updates and progress reports.
